Industrial visit is considered as one of the tactical methods of teaching. The main reason behind this- it lets students know things practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices. Moreover, it gives exposure from an academic point of view. Main aim of industrial visit is to provide exposure to students about the practical working environment .They also provide students a good opportunity to gain full awareness about industrial practices. Through industrial visit students get awareness about new technologies. Technology development is a main factor, about which a student should have a good knowledge. Visiting different companies actually help students to build a good relationship with those companies. We know building relationships with companies will always help to gain a good job in future. After visiting an industry students can gain a combined knowledge about both theory and practical.

Students will be more concerned about earning a job after having an industrial visit.

Details of Industrial Visit are given below:

Name : ZEE StudioS, Sitapura Industrial area , Jaipur

Date of Visit: 13 February 2020

Outcome of the visit:

An Industrial Visit to ZEE Studio was organized for 2nd year of CSE department .At around    10 :30 AM students were taken to Zee Studio which was quite near to the college .Firstly all students were asked assembled in studio no 4.The studio no 4 was the largest among all studios. A coordinator from the HR department of Zee Studio introduced himself to students and gave a brief introduction regarding the studio.

There were 4 studios in total. He then explained about all the works and the projects which are completed in the studio. He also mentioned that many reality fiction shows had been shot here like DID, Little champs and many more. He also mentioned the responsibilities and the roles of people who are working in this industry like the production man the spotboy, the director, and actor. From all the points it was clear that artists work for at least 10 to 12 hours minimum a day to provide better quality content to the audience.

The man in-charge divided the students among three groups, each group contained 15 to 20 students and every group was assigned a volunteer who was working in the same studio. His responsibility was to take all the students a visit to all the studios. The students then went to studio no 3 which was beautifully decorated; the set was of a Indian fiction show which was telecasted on Zee TV.

The volunteer explained the process of making a set and about all the people who put on the efforts to make this set the cost and how the production house recovered that cost. The volunteer told the students that the set takes around many months to build and requires a lot of hard work and dedication of the workers and the people who are involved in the production of this set.

The students were then guided to the studio no2 which was quite smaller as compared to studio number 3 .The set which was built in studio number 3 was of a fiction show called “Raja Beta” which was telecasted on Zee TV in the evening. The shooting of that serial was not taking at that moment.

Then the student waited to take to studio number 1 which was a set of reality show called “Mindwars”. The set was beautifully decorated and it had quite a big stage. At the end the students had a photo session. At about 12:30 PM we dispersed from the studio and returned back to college.

The following is a list of various types of sets which were arranged in the production house and editing which we had observed during our Industry Visit.

We have observed that how editing is used in the production industry. How the sound mixing and VFX are added to the takes. What are fictions and Non-Fiction shows? How the shows are telecasted and the procedure which is related to it.

We have come across various Studios where the sets of different scenarios are built. The description of the sets is following:-

  • Set 1:- In set 1 there is a set organized for Mind Wars Reality show. The set is mostly made up of cardboard without roof. The roof was created mostly Chroma/Green Sheets which was edited later on. The host of this show was Shreyas Talpade.
  • Set 2: In set 2 there is a set organized for Mai Bhi Ardhangani show which was mostly a type of magical fiction show . The most of the editing is used is of VFX.
  • Set3:- In set 3 there is a set organized for Raja Beta fiction show which is of Family Drama. This is show is wholly scripted and was shoot accordingly to the script
  • Set4:- This set is the largest in terms of area. This set is basically ready to be given to any company which wants to prepare or shoot its show or movie.
