The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering came into existence at the Global Institute of Technology in 2002, by the approval of All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), to meet the growing requirement of practical design engineers. Since its commencement, the primary objective of the department has been to impart quality education, training and research.
The Department runs undergraduate course – B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering with the intake of 120 seats in First shift and 60 seats in Second shift. The Department also run postgraduate course – M.Tech in Digital Communication with intake of 18 seats in both shifts.The Department currently has 37 faculties out of which 30 are M. Tech. and mostly have more than 5 years of teaching experience.
The state-of-the-art laboratories, such as Optical Fibre Communication Lab, Signal Processing Lab, Wireless Communication Lab, Advanced Microprocessor Lab, Microprocessor Lab, Analog& Digital Communication Lab, Digital Electronics Lab, Electronics Lab, EMI Lab, complement the high standards set by the competitive syllabus and nurture the inclination of the students towards research and development, besides giving them the necessary and sufficient backing of practical knowledge that they need. The Department have 14 Technical Assistant associated with different Labs. The Department provides access to study of high end software like MATLAB, Xilinx ISE 12.0, EDWINXP, DSP, Lab view core software. The Department also have Research & Development Lab, the aim of LAB is to fill the gap between institutes and industries, supplement engineering curriculums with hands-on expertise of latest industrial needs.
The department have 2 seminar halls with all facilities like projector and having 100 seating capacity. The Departmental Library has 300 Books in the area of 50 sq.m. The Department also strives to offer its students excellent instructional and educational opportunities in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, thus providing a durable technical foundation in an environment of rapid technical change. In this process, it enables and promotes their professional growth through contact with best professional practice. The department thus tries to play a role of resource and technical leadership in national level development activities.
The Department has always been on a high growth path and has experienced and dedicated faculty with strong commitment to engineering education who work with zeal and enthusiasm to provide a vibrant and optimum learning environment to the students in order to help them excel in todays competitive environment. To keep pace with the current technological trends, the department has a well-designed, constantly reviewed syllabus to incorporate all advancements in existing and emerging technologies which gives the students a holistic and pragmatic view of the present scenario of the Electronics and Communication industry.
